TopLine Designer for Act! v16 for Web has been Released

Effective today, April 28, 2014, we have released an extension for TopLine Designer which allows you to view your custom tables and custom entities in Act! for Web.  See below for the download link.

Set-up instructions
Note: This only has to be done on the Act! for Web server

1.  Download the file from TopLineDesignerWebV16

2. Save the zip file to your desktop.

3. Right click the zip file and select ‘Extract All.’

4. Select where you want to extract the files (desktop is recommended).

5. Once you have extracted the files, you will want to take the three folders Bin, Plugins and Designer and copy them into the folder C:Program Files (x86)ACTAct for WebAPFW.  You will have to overwrite the Bin and Plugins folder.  The Designer folder is new.

6. Perform an IISRESET on your web server machine.

7. When users log in, they will now see the custom tables.

    

What features are available?
TopLine Designer for Act! v16 for Web will have the following  basic features:

• Your custom table will be shown as a tab in your layout in the web client. 

• From that tab, you can create a new record, edit an existing record or delete a record. 

Note: No other advanced features are available.  Scripting is not supported.

Licensing
You must own a license of TopLine Designer for Act! v16 for each user who will be logging in to Act! for Web, i.e., if you have ten Act! for Web users, you must own ten TopLine Designer licenses.  To comply with the license agreement, each user in the Act! for Web environment where TopLine Designer is installed must own a valid Designer license.
