Dynamics 365 Update – Form and View Redesign

Dynamics 365 Update – Form and View Redesign

New forms and views are here, and they are better than ever! Since the Dynamics CRM 2013 update the user interface has seen many improvements but it has always been white. Now it’s white and …. (drum roll) … grey!

Forms
White and grey may not sound very different from the old forms, but it’s the use of grey that makes a huge difference.

Looking at the form, the separation of sections is quite clear. This is something that has been overlooked since 2013. Each section is outlined, and headings have a grey background as well. The occasional blue shading and text also brings a distinctive flair and increases usability.

Sub-Grids
Now sub-grids can each have a defined color. It’s a subtle, but powerful, setting that can help with correlation between entities. To demonstrate, contacts and opportunities have long been blue and green, respectively, in sitemap navigation. Sub-grids can now mimic that color scheme to improve visibility.

Views
Other than the introduction of editable-grids, views haven’t changed much until now. While the updated view user interface isn’t as “revolutionary” as our updated forms, visibility is improved. Views follow the new scheme of using grey to outline and separate information.

Looking at new and updated views, header columns are now more easily distinguished from the columns below, and the headers have larger and bold text for easier reading. Overall, this is a great update from the white views currently in place.

This enhanced user interface for Microsoft Dynamics 365 is likely to increase your productivity. Information is more quickly discernable, and usability is significantly improved! If you have not yet taken advantage of these newly offered features, please give us a call, so that we can help you do so!
