Act! 2013 Tips and Tricks: Opportunity Does Not Roll Up to the Contact

As an Act! user, you may have experienced the following issue when creating an opportunity for a contact.  The history shows that the opportunity was created in the opportunity table; however, it does not appear at the contact level. 

The opportunity does not roll up to the contact history even though the opportunity was created for the contact. You can easily solve this problem by opening the opportunity history and then associating it with a contact by selecting a contact from the dropdown (see below).

In the screenshot above, the opportunity is created for Willie Humprey; however, the contact field remains blank unless you manually select a contact to be associated with the opportunity. Once you associate the opportunity with the contact, it will then roll up to the contact level.

In the screenshot above, we can see that the opportunity history is now associated with the contact and is shown in the history of the contact.  You must follow these steps for any activity dealing with an opportunity.   For more information on Act!, please contact us at info@toplineresults.com.
