Personalize Views in ACT!

Learn how to personalize any of the list views within ACT!.  The list views include Company, Contact, Opportunity, Task or Group.  The list views also appear on each tab at the bottom half of the Contact, Company, Opportunity or Group records.

In this example, we will modify the Activity tab view to show the Scheduled For name, allowing users to see which team member is responsible for each activity, as shown above.

1.     From a contact record > click to activate the activity tab.

2.     Click on the Options button in the upper right corner of the tab and select Customize Columns.

3.     In the Customize Columns dialog, select the Scheduled For entry from the Available fields list on the left and click on the single right-facing arrow to add it to the Show as columns in this order list on the right.  The field will appear at the end of the list.  The Scheduled For field indicates which user owns the activity.

4.     Next select the field and use the Move Up button to position the field where you would like to see the column on your list view. Choose OK to close the dialog and the new field will appear on your tab.

Now you can see in the tab below that Chris Huffman has a call with Mackenzie Jensen on 3/18/2013 to confirm a shipment and that Allison Mikola has a lunch meeting with Mackenzie Jensen scheduled for 4/17/2013.  This feature works the same for all of the list views in ACT!.  Also, you can use this feature to remove or reorganize any of the columns within each list view.

ACT! does not have the ability to “cross tables” and show fields in a view from different tables.  For example in the Opportunity List view, you may want to see the City field or the ID/Status field from the contact table.  However, you can create this kind of view by using our ACT! add-on, TopLine Dash, as shown in the screenshot below.
