How does TopLine Alerts work with Microsoft Exchange?
Alerts can work with Microsoft Exchange
if SMTP services are enabled.
Why can't I store my backup on a network drive?
Alerts is a Windows service that runs under
the local SYSTEM user. Change the service user using the Services
Control Panel. Right click on "TopLine Alerts", and select
Properties. Go to the Log On tab, and enter an account which
has access to the network drive.
Why doesn't Alerts overwrite my old PDF/XLS file?
Overwrite permission was added to version
2.2.3 of Alerts
After upgrading to the latest ACT! 2008 build (v10.0.3) my backups
in TopLine Alerts no longer work.
This is an error that was introduced in
10.0.3. The solution is to go to your ACT! install folder
and find any file that starts with Xceed (I believe that there are
three of them) and copy them to the TopLine Alerts install folder.
After you do this, restart the TopLine Alerts service and the backup
will work.
